If someone picks on enough people from one of the factions, does this affect their standing in that faction's sphere of influence?

Not sure about prices, but from what me and friends have been testing with factions. You can kill 'independant' faction within imperial space and you get a rep bonus with the opposing imperial faction.

I wonder if that will then affect missions offered etc. if the faction thinks you're good, maybe they'll pay more, or offer more missions.
