Faction influence

Hi guys,

Struggling a bit to get any results from our efforts to undermine the dominant power in our system currently.

There's faction A, which is currently at 53.4% and our preferred (i.e non federation) faction at 20.2%.

We've all done countless missions for the preferred faction. I've tried bounty hunting (targetting any wanted vessels that are not for our faction), selling shedloads of exploration data to our faction and I've also taken to doing some alternative/fork missions that get you to take the goods elsewhere, which according to the summary screen yield a negative influence for the dominant faction... and yet there's no change to the figures. It's been almost a week now and have not seen any change in those influence values...

Do they only update every so often? Or are we missing something?

I am pretty sure I saw somewhere that the devs turned off the influence system at the moment so it doesn't change.

There could be other people working the other way balancing your efforts out.

This. I have done countless missions from the start with more or less zero impact. Exactly because others I speak to work the opposite way.

Its clear the system works when you get a lot of people to work in the same direction.

Its mainly about triggering the events.

The system map measures influence down to a tenth of a percent, I'm not convinced that there has been an identical force in opposition to us the whole time... we have seen maybe 2 or 3 other human players in the system in the last week or so.

Wouldn't be so frustrating if there was any mention of how it works from Frontier, or even a statement saying that it's working/not working!

Devs are saying nothing, which means its broken

But there have been some success stories out there it seems, so either there's something we're missing or there's a luck or other element that's out of our control?
