Faction Rank Table?

Hi!

Is there a factions' rank list somewhere? It would be nice to know how much work it would take to achieve a certain rank with a given faction! (E.g.: I read a disturbing note in the description of the Imperial Clipper that one needed to be at least a Baron of the Empire to own that ship - if it is true, I would like to make a plan for it!)
There used to be a document for FFE that went into detail on the number of points you got for military missions and the number of points needed for each rank. I guess it was not an official one (and I sadly seem to have lost it at some system re-install) but it helped a lot in advancing towards my goals.
Thanks in advance!

sadly i don't know if anyone has ever been higher than neutral with any of the major factions in gamma.

And is it true that faction rep is required for certain ships?

yes. If you look at the ships for sale, it will mention any requirements. The only two that I know of are the imperial clipper ( rank of Baron required) and the federal gunship ( rank of leiutenant i think). Now those two are ranks. I do not know of any that require faction rep.

Here's a sure thing for you.

Do LOADS of bounty hunting ... rep doesn't move even a smidgeon towards anything like friendly.

But...

Get caught ONCE with 8k of smuggled goods and it wipes whatever progress you'd made to that point with the federation passes go and dumps you into the unfriendly straight away.

Faction smacktion

Grind grind grind...what does even doing this get us when ever we get "there"

Sorry for rant but it's frustrating and seems broken and aimless as a design feature.

Yeah, that's what I meant, too, and that's what the whole thread is about.
So, how do I know how much grinding is left until I become a Baron???

Yeah I've been trying to find the progression of ranks (it's how I found this thread), as I do want a Clipper in the future ... but there does seem a lack of info about them.

I do hope we get a list of ranks at or before release, so I know how I'm progressing is going.

How does one advance in rank anyway?

So far I only know about advancing in reputation (which is slooooooooooooow).
But the whole rank thing... is it even implemented yet?

It's most probably the same as gaining reputation ... do trading, do missions, bounties, etc..

Edit: I might be from fighting in conflict zones only.

I have been trying so hard to get positive rep back with the federation, I actually had t on friendly before those darn alien artefact's and outfitting laser fire bug lol, now am hostile with federation but am allied with federal congress and friendly with sol workers party.. all naval ships are green for me as well. go figure heh? :D

The Federal Dropship requires a rank of ensign, just to clarify that... And FD have stated that ranks aren't obtainable yet. Therefore... At this point, we can only speculate.

I am ranked friendly with the Feds now, so it does seem to be available.
Basing on my stat's, so approx since not all where to Fed systems, it took :

300k (or about 120) bounties being claimed
300k (or about 300 systems worth) of trade data being sold
40m CR worth of trading (yes I did grind)
Friendly / Allied status with approx 6 minor factions.

I can see it taking considerable time to reach allied or higher

Edit: Sorry, mis read a few posts...How rank fits in though, who knows.. maybe reputation turns to ranks or maybe one of your ranks has to be such whilst having an allied rep

The above posts are correct. They are from Beta. Currently they are not possible to get (Aside from NPCs having them).
