So I’m one rank away from rear admiral for the federation. Is it just me or does the rep gains from doing courier missions slow down towards the higher tiers of ranks? Would love feedback on this as it’s a conversation me and my buddy had today with no real answer.

The missions don't change their reward but each rank doubles the amount of work required to get the rank.

Oh god have mercy gonna be a late night tonight then cuz I’m not stopping till I’m through that final rank so are courier missions legitimately the best way?

"Best" is subjective. But it can't be denied that they are quick and easy to do so you can maximise your throughput with them.
