I'd like to see more benefits for sombody allied with a local faction.
If docking requesting a busy station, it could arrange dockings by status. Say its full but an allied requests docking, the station could cancel / postpone dockings for non docked but already granted lower status ships and grant a VIP docking.
In addition, somebody who is allied to a faction normally would get slightly better prices for buying/selling to the local market. Could be 2-3% in buying/selling, so a 6% spread as an example.
An allied CMDR could also be allowed to purchase better modules at that local factions station. Say it offers a B class to everybody but A class will only be offered to allied CMDRs. Or station does not sell a module at all but will sell to allies.
In hostile territory, if allied to a major faction, it could send a release wing from time to time to support if CMDR is under atack. Or it could contact the commander to advise a secret large ship hangar where CMDR may dock and replennish/refit while in that hostile area.
Just looking forward to more reasons to become alied to as many factions as possible.
