Does increased favourable faction Reputation within systems, open the door for more profitable commodities in that system?

Commodities? No. Missions, yes.
Then it may be coincidental, before Xmas one commodity in my system, palladium, was sold cheaper than any other systems stations i have visited and this planet i work 90% of my reputation missions for. I watched the price drop over the weeks, but only once it dropped the price.
Oh and the same planet (Faction) offered me a 300,000k mission to collect tobacco, 41 tons of it. That was the first and last mission i have seen offering such a high payout.
