Faction status - Election??

Ran a search for forum posts but couldn't pin anything down so hopefully this thread doesn't get shot down - although I'm more than happy if someone else has a thread that answers the question.

The imperial faction I'm working for has expanded into a couple of neighbouring systems.

In one of them it has influence of 20% and has a faction status of 'election critical' alongside 'boom' and 'expansion'.

Does anyone know what this election will involve and its influence on the system?

I think they follow the British system, so it's six weeks of hard campaigning then the big day itself. I believe Tea Supply is a big issue these days in the Empire. Either that or which candidate they'll support for the Emperor. But mostly Tea.

PS. Dunno.

It is a new state that takes the place of war...it gives certain factions the ability to 'fight' for supremacy without bloodshed. I believe once it queues up there will be support x by doing this mission. Similar to war, once one of the factions surpasses the other by a certain amount, they win and the other side loses its most important station.

By supplying Tea!

So you're saying that there might be a ... Tea Party? ;) lol

If two opposing factions believe in some sort of representative governmental structure will have an election instead of a civil war.
