Fail piracy

Well, so I was making my money as a rare-goods trader (travelling that amazing 71-stop route from CMDR CC Waterback), travelled through a lot of systems, picked up some side-money by getting some exploration data from the unexplored systems along the way. Finally able to afford better modules etc (was trading in a T6 at first, then moved on to Asp), but in the spur of the moment I sold the ship and got a vulture instead, switched to BHing, and also improving my standings (was hostile to Feds, which made the trade route more exciting, as they shot me on sight)..

So I was looking for a target for an assassination mission, in some alliance system, when suddenly a T6 passed through, and after I have been looking for my target for a long time already, my trigger finger really itched, so I interdicted him, sent my warning message and fired a few warning shots (and amazed how quickly the shield and health went down on it, much more than intended).

Anyway, he says "oh not a second time..."
"Oh you already got pirated in this system?"
"yeah just before you interdicted me"
"Oh am sorry to hear that, who did that to you?"
"CMDR xxx, he should still be in system..."
"Ok let me try to find and kill him for you, and if you need escort, we can go in a wing and I can try to protect you"

Lol, some pirate I am :D But somehow couldn't really rob him again, felt sorry for him, and annoyed about CMDR xxx lol... anyway, made a new friend in game instead, and will try harder next time :D

Not a hardened pirate, if you ask me. Then again, I've been there as well. :) I was about to interdict and pirate a type 7, only to change my mind after he greeted me, very politely, and struck up a conversation.

Well.. I did see the guy who had -suppsedly- robbed him before, and I did get killed by him (and his buddy, both in FDL) in a CZ... so I believed him :) But either way, made a new friend, and he seemed nice enough, so that's worth something :)

Meanwhile another T6 -who decided to make a runner- had to pay the ultimate price though... and a wanted Cobra as well...

Thats 'IT' really.
Most pirates are decent people IRL as are Traders. We all have something in common, we enjoy Elite.

There have been some heated debates on these forums. The recent pirate/trader topics go to show that actually, despite our differences, we're all in this together.

Lets not let the few ruin it for the majority!

Yeah, I think the game could really need more of the social aspect... I always find it fun to meet new people, but a lot of people don't talk at all, even when you hail them (though I have to admit, I find it hard sometimes too, as I use an OR)...

I just almost got taken out by a Viper before, that was real good fun, so exciting! I interdicted him to run my KWS on him, but he started shooting straight away, and I gotta say, he flew his ship really well. I made the mistake of using my SCB a touch too late, and he ate into my structure with his multicannons... and before I knew it my ship suddenly powered down, and I had to reboot it (makes me wonder if it is run by Windows 3000 or so... :D), then after that decided to disengage and get repaired, try again another time :)

That was certainly very exciting, and shows me that I still have to learn and practise a lot, well done Commander XXX, hats off o7
