Failed a mission due to slow hyperspace loading times

I took a long distance mission from Sothis in an Asp with a 35 minute window as a fun challenge. It turned into a frustrating annoyance as nearly every one of the 15 hyperspace jumps took several minutes to arrive. I did everything else right! Lost several hundred thousand credits.
FD if you are going to have tightly timed missions there really needs to be a fix for this.

I posted in a thread yesterday that a 16 jump trip took 41 minutes. It messed up a few missions for me, thing is those delivery missions award high rep so when you fail them it must hurt your standing.

Could be worse, you could be taking twice as long getting back from Sagittarius A with a broken cockpit, (one commander said he was having such a problem yesterday).

Not sure if it still helps - but so far, Solo Mode appeared unaffected by the massive HyperJump delays.

Aye. I had the same problem. My first jump was tremendously slow, then I switched to solo for the remainder of the trip, and things were a lot more smoother.

It's the season when the entire 'connected' world is shopping online. Imagine the complaints about lag if Horizons had been launched. Could this be one reason why Horizons was delayed until after this peak period?

No, I don't think this is the reason.

I also have experienced the long jump times... I can only surmise that, if you're right, they are doing work at the back-end.

Not a great trader or explorer here, so i dont jump very often, but i was just timing how long it takes for a single jump (just an order of magnitude). From star to star, considering the FSD cooldown, i need around 1 minute including the scooping time when needed (actually its a little bit less than 1 minute.... 15 jumps took me 13 minutes).

It happened to me before, on saturday evening, and someone told me it is for the number of players. Never happened again (but i usually do not play saturday evening :) )

There's no point in open right now anyways, as instancing is also broken as a result of this network failure. You don't get matched with other players.

I thought mission timers were paused during hyperjumps?
No they are in "real time". They continue to count down even when your internet is down, your PC crashes, you log out (a pet peeve of mine), or *the servers are unavailable* (and yes that last one is really stupid).
