"failed to connect to authentication server"

Hello i just got the game off epic and followed all the things to get it setup. however if i try to launch the game it gives me the message above. i have seen a few others having the same issue. can anybody help? also yes i have tried restarting epic
 
So far uninstalled the game logged out completely on everything, logged back in and reinstalling the game i am at about 95% ill keep ya posted if it fixes the issue. Oh and also cleaned my history/cache on my browser too

EDIT: Still Borked, cant log in..

i've looked into the issue, it's been happening for at least 5 years, so the devs really are useless, if they can't fix it, i guess only some people get to play until they do, ir they get lucky
 
ok so i just went straight into the folder to the launcher. right clicked and run as admin. it sent a code to my email. when i put the code it said i had to purchase the game. If i try going through epic i get the same errors as most ppl here

So do i have to get it through another platform? i really don't want to buy it
 
Usually, the "Failure to connect to ... server" is nothing you can do anything about. Usually.

It could be:
  • FD's server is simply overloaded (or the hamsters are on strike). Quite possible right now.
  • Amazon's AWS is overloaded, or is priorizing other stuff higher than FD's traffic
  • any ISP in the chain, down to the one you are conected to, is having problems
  • your firewall, port forwarding, UPnP or VPN or its settings conflict with FD's port usage

On busy periods (like today and probably up to and including the next weekend), I'd just try again over several hours - including shutting down and restarting the game launcher and possibly the Epic launcher. If that doesn't resolve the issue and all other internet applications on your system work fine, you may have to contact support to help you with tackling the last issue in the list.
