I've not posted an improvement suggestion before as I am prepared to wait and see what the direction offered by the devs, is.
However one little niggle I do have is the Station location marker. When you approach a star port or outpost the station marker is buried somewhere inside it, but..
Outside every star port and outpost is a lead-in marker. From my yachtting days known as a Fairway Marker or Buoy. I think the station marker should be centred on this, possibly with a big strobe or other bright light, for ease of recognition as you approach it.
It would give a definitive location and allow you to position yourself for a landing run, especially for the outposts.
