Fallout New Vegas.. Should I bother playing it ?

O.k. I've not played any Fallout games, but New Vegas is pretty cheap at the moment so I thought I would ask you guys.

Is it worth me bothering playing it, if I'm not usually into rpg type games ?
Is it good 0-10 score ?
Can it be played in many different ways i.e. paths ?
Will I get immersed in the game ?
Is it a good game for my first rpg title ?

It's one of the best fallout games, just make sure you get all the DLC = GOTY version.

I'm biased as I'm a massive RPG and fallout fan anyway.

Have a watch of this:-

TL;Dr - it's good

It's a long time since I played it but I loved it a lot. Best in the series at a vanilla level for sure. Mods I didnt try.

Not sure how well its aged though.

It is a bit janky, but honestly - the gfx are enough for me to immerse in. I played this quite a lot almost as much as Skyrim, I'd say. Knew the world pretty well - still only 1 completed playthrough. I even played again after having a look at FO4, just to feel the difference with the skill system again.

Currently I'm playing CP2077 again, which is decent but urban open world and urban means the buildings are mostly facade. CP2077 already increased the "indoor" locations a lot to stuff like TW3 or GTA (not played the last of that, tho). Point is, you get kinda more open world mileage out of non-urban settings. And Bethesda like to make a mix of lightly urban. But you can instantly see that when they do, you'll find more closed doors than in thinner "populated" zones. Gotta strike a balance - I generally like Bethesda's approach in world building.

Got hundreds of hours in new vegas, probably second only to elite dangerous in terms of hours played.

I highly recommend checking out modding the game using vortex and nexus mods, there are some very good mods out there that fix many of the games bugs improve graphics and introduce lots of new game play. Some like "New California" are player made, free expansion packs.
