Newcomer / Intro Famine Systems on Galactic Map - what am I doing wrong?

Went to Galactic Map
Went to filters and cleared all except Famine and NOTHING shows up?
In fact going through all the filters only 1 system shows up for War or Bust, a few for Boom and nothing for anything else either?
The sliders for Min and Max are at the bottom and top respectively?

I'm clearly doing something wrong

There are two things that could go wrong.

a) you have a population slider too high. There is a slider underneath the filters which allows you to hide systems up to certain population count. If you have it too high up, the smaller systems (which are more susceptible to famine) won't show up.

b) there actually aren't any famine systems around deciat. Famine isn't the most common state and you can only see a limited number of systems on the map. Zoom out a little bit and move around and up and down. You should find one, eventually. Somewhere. When I'm looking for a system in one of the more obscure states, it's not uncommon to find only one or two within 200LY.
The area around Deciat is pretty active with players, so it's actually quite unlikely for a system to fall into famine.

There's just not many of them.
Not all of them have distribution centres, either. Like nav beacons, they only show up within 1000Ls.

Galmap ends up annoying for famine systems - they are quite rare for high population ones. https://eddb.io/system?r=4079&t=37 is faster for me, though make sure the system updated recently.

But yeah, when comes to the interbubble travel, the point of "too far away to bother" kind of shifts as you go along. For me it's not distance but the number of jumps. I can tolerate the maximum of 10. Luckily, 10 jumps in most of my ships are over 300LY.
