Famine Systems

So I'm trying to farm Datamined Wake Exceptions, and I've read that distribution centers are the best way to do it. I took a look at the galaxy map, set the filter to famine, and found nothing. Checked Inara, which showed three systems, which were out of date. Checked EDDB, and apparently there isn't a single famine state system in the galaxy. ...What? This seems like bad design to me. Surely there should be at least one? Is the Jameson crash site the best spot to farm G5 encoded mats while none are available?

This. A couple of hours doing this and I had enough wake data to engineer 7 ships. Famine systems are supposed to be the best ones but not the only ones.

Sometimes you only need to keep playing and doing what you enjoy the most in the game instead of focusing on achieving goals that are randoms. I learned that looking for Qwent Modular Terminals with passenger missions, after 10 I made a commodity transport one and got 23 of them.

Yeah, I never got the whole outrage over Qwent. Doing one or two passenger missions beats travelling back and forth between two systems over 100lys apart for rares, like with Hera Tani.

Let me answer your question since I had searched for it before. The reason why there are no femine systems is because of the 3.3 update, it reset all states. And famine cannot spawn for some reason, perhaps too short of time (almost one year tho?). But hey! Think of the bright side, that mean no system is under hunger which lead to many thing like crime decrease and people live in prosperity!
