The first chapter of Fangs book 2 is up!

Fangs is a noir-styled Elite Dangerous web comic. The first book was a series of disconnected vignettes—short peeks into various aspects of the Elite world. Book two is going to be more of a traditional story, with characters and a cohesive plot. I'll also be using some more community art this time around, with assistance from folks like Mercenary Commander artist David Hall.

Very nice! When I first read Fangs, I was impressed by the style, of course, but then I realised that the writing was actually very, very good. I hope you can carry that on for a longer story! This first chapter is promising, though going from these larger themes in the first book to a more personal story surely must be challenging. I really like how you portray, or rather sketch, a more adult romance in just a few panels.

Thank you—that's exactly what I'm going for. This is going to be a story about two people that unfolds over (I think) ten chapters, and the idea is to do it as a "realistic" adult romance. No overt reliance on trope-y characters (Dark Guy With a Past, Badass Fight-Chick Who Just Needs a Man, and so on)—just two normal folks who found each other. They just happen to live and work in space, with all the hazards that brings with it.
