So lemme tell you a story about my most recent time in an extraction zone!
I hang around Smeaton Port for Bounties and great mining spots. It's my fallback zone for nuetral-ish profiting. See I dont really care about Poerplay at all. And I play in solo because I dont really like PVP.

I hopped in my Vulture for some pirate killing. Jumped into the closest Extraction zone and was immedaitly beset by the new graphical updates, It actually looks like a ring system now, dust clouds hanging close to the rocks. I mean i noticed the change in the hangars but this was great. I zooming in closer to the killing fields and sat for a few minutes before being zoned by a group of 5 cops. An An Anaconda armed to the teeth, and 4 Vipers.

I ignore them since I want kills. I zip around the rocks noticing was seeming to be a stealth mobility upgrade.
about 3 minutes later a cluster of space rats pop into my zone all master class. I KW scan them all and 3pips to systems and 3 to guns. I go for what looks like the easiest target, just an Eagle. I fire my gimbal lock lasers at his tail and boost all in to get behind him again. Cops come in shortly after he lights me up. Then he starts using the cops as cover. And his allies are starting to use missiles on me behind my point defense turrets blindspots.

I'm like holy crap coordinated efforts!? This was not players, but NPCs! There's some smarts there! It feels like players and I'm enjoying it. I take the eagle out then i lose control of my space craft and start spinning outta control, Im like stupid cops ramming me! It was not the cops it was an enemy with the new weapon systems trying to make me ram the cops and get a bounty on me.

Seriously amazing job FD. I'm loving this. [up]:cool: old Elite feels so [alien] now. This is fresh and alive now!

ANd I bet you are working out how to do that engagement better next time so you kill them easier instead of whining on the forums how it is too hard now? I know I have been analyzing what I am doing and seeing if I can improve it. Running some missions and stuff to get some mats right now for some upgrades. Enjoying the update like you.

I had lots of fun with these "Force cannons" in beta. I can't wait to get one, now. :)
I had similar experience, myself. Great story. rep+ :)

can confirm as well npc use meat shields..... still doesn't help their case when they try to use me as a meat shield and there is a large rock just on the other side of him. and my brother guns pointed at him/me so he cant run without being shot.


end result was death by snu snu.
