There is a new video up with some more lore on the Far God, Thargoids, etc.

Sounds exactly like the kind of story that The Club would spread in part of their overall plan. You are describing the very experience that worshipers of the Far God are saying is going to happen....the great apocalypse of humanity, one that can only be escaped by belief in the Far God and understanding the Thargoids as the Heralds of that doom....essentially the Angels of Death. Far God worshipers accept this reality and choose to allow the apocalypse to wash over humanity, even if their own mortal bodies are destroyed prior to their own ascension. All of this is found in the Far God worshipers story-line in-game when you go through Galnet and go through to audio recordings at Sanctum and the Prophet sites at Etain 4 a and Etain 4 c. Canonn Research has them compiled and transcribed for ease of listening at the first link below. The two links after it are links to the Pleiades Concordat sites which contain the relevant Galnet articles.

My home system is in the Pleiades Sector - Has been for a long while, well before Thargoids were introduced.
- Unless antagonized, the 'Goids haven't attacked me once -
Sure, they constantly pull me out of WitchSpace and scan, usually in multiples, no matter the types. I have no problems with that -
I gave up hunting them, there is no productive result from that, they just respawn in the same systems at the same places - So, they go their way, I go mine.
As far as interdictions, I have no clue as to what they are searching for -
- Maybe Fdev has a plan for that, I dunno -
It appears that it is another abandoned part of E-D that should be addressed by a "qualified" Sci-Fi storyteller at some point.
I am hopeful that the "NEW ERA" will address some if not all of the issues that are currently in-game that has, IMO, ruined my favourite game.
I found that targeting them with weapons blazing seems to make them a little upset. Not sure why.Yeah, the non-aggression of thargoids, unless provoked is... at least strange.
How to provoke them?
Try some thargoid or guardian items in your cargo.
And still they will not harm you if you just drop those items in time.
Just like alien space-pirates (or mothers taking care of their youngs).
