Odyssey+ have same resolution as vive pro, 1440x1600 per eye, but you have no SDE on O+. There is no any blurr. Image is a sharp as a razor. It is just impossible to make a blur, because anti-sde filter is not influing existing pixels. Folks who are claiming it is blurrying something just need to clear eyes or lenses.
Text is sharp, everything is readable. i had acer vr, and compared it also to oculus and vive.
I respectfully disagree. I have an Odyssey+ (and a Rift, also). The screen door effect is definitely less than that of my Rift, but it's not 100% gone, and the individual pixels are a little blurry. The level of blurriness has to do with how it sits on your face, I think, and because the angle of the goggle part and halo part is not adjustable, it's not possible to get it exactly right for everyone, so while you may not have any blur, others clearly do.
The Odyssey+ is pretty great
for the price, but IMHO, you're making a lot sacrifices to get that high resolution image. Namely:
WAY worse tracking, especially of the handy-twiddles
It's not very comfortable (for me)
The headphones, at least in comparison to the Rift's, are garbage, and not even removable.
The software interface between WMR and SteamVR doesn't seem to be as smooth as Oculus'. I get hitching when opening up certain menus in ED on the O+, but not the Rift.
It seems to me that "display a motion compensated picture through a pair of goggles" is a pretty well-understood thing now, but it's not the only component of a good VR system, and currently, it's really only Oculus and HTC that are thinking about this in terms of it being a system.
Edit: Please note, I said I
respectfully disagree. The reading I've done about the Odyssey+ in the last few days seems to indicate that the shape of one's head has to do with how good an experience it delivers, and apparently the guy they had test it has a wider, rounder head than me. I don't doubt that your experience with it is good, and that may be because my head is the wrong shape for it.
