Farseer's level 5 FSD upgrade .... wake scans

I figure I must be missing a trick here. I've scanned about 50 of those b'stards and not a single strange wake solution. I have scanned near stations and high res extraction zones.

Kicker is, you need 2 of those for a single roll, and I found not a single fricking one.

As ze Germans would say: Was der frog?

That's just unlucky...I hung around a few stations for a while with my wake scanner & picked up all sorts of scans including strange wake scans....luck, pure luck.

I can see why Engineer's is not popular with a lot of players.....It's not another online gambling app....is it?

Yeah ... tried nav beacons as well.

These engineering mechanics ..... what an exquisite load of bollox.

I have loads of strange wake solutions, I was after anomulous fsd telemetry at the time though, its just pure luck, I didn't get much luck finding the other level 5 components though so gave up and settled for a perfect level 3 roll with perfect secondary attribute which also increaserange, now my level 3 is like a mid range level 5 upgrade because of the cap on best rolls. If I could eject them into space you would be welcome to them :(

Heh, I got a hard disk load of anomalous fsd telemetry.

Give these different types of data some sort of pointers where to look, what to scan. This is just ...

I needed to scan for a few hours in total around Garay Terminal in order to get two, of course there is missions as well but without no mission finder and having to go to each station to look it's all the same RNG.

Keep at it.....you may find some today.
I've stopped at level 4 for frame shift drive. As some people report level 5 roll turning out worse than 4 due to the large overlap percentage on the sliding scales.
Flimley.

Honestly its just luck, I find if you pin the blueprint they never turn up, maybe that's placebo effect though.

I just scanned high wakes next to a busy station in cubeo to be precise, cant remember the name but there was constantly 3/4 wakes to go off and scan, I did it in open and scanner players and npcs, although both dropped them

Der frog is trying to cross ze rod.

Also, missions (got a friendly or allied faction? They give you more or less everything you need) and plain luck - I got most of mine from scanning departing ships at stations.

I just parked outside Jameson Memorial...fitted the A grade scanner, found a sweet spot where I didn't have to move at all, chasing departing ships...got my first one within 10 minutes...second one took maybe another hour..

The amount of sheer luck needed to get some materials is just lame. One of the first scans I did after Engineers went live was a strange wake thingy, haven't got another one in many many scans since.

And that's just getting the materials to craft something in the first place. Don't even get me started about the luck you need to craft something that's an improvement over your current module.
