Farthest apart stars in a single system?

So i'm hopping from sector to sector exploring in the starter (mostly) sidewinder, when i jump into a system LHS 3610. Scan pulse, and find a few unexplored so i proceed to scan them. After i'm done i check the system map and see that it's actually a two star system. Confused as i had only found one i look around and don't see anything. Check the system map again and take note that it's a red star, then go look for red stars in the background. I only notice one so i head that way, heading slightly down and out of the solar plane. After about 10,000Ls i start to doubt myself but before i look around for other options i check to see if it's moved in relation to the background, it had ever so slightly moved, and was still moving. Reassured it was the right star i go get a drink and leave it running only to come back to the distinct sound of a ship slowing down. <snip> A whole 58,000Ls away. Thank you FD for giving me a game where i can actually put to use Stellar Parallax.

TLDR: Stellar Parallax.

What's the furthest apart you've ever found a star from the jump position?

I just scanned down the E star in a system in the Bleae Thua sector. It was 195,000 LS out. And I've had stars that were 549k LS out.

There's also Proxima Centari that is famously 0.22 LY from the primary (Alpha Centari)

I probably would have decided i was wrong in my guess that that was the correct star after 200k. Don't know whether i wan't to upgrade the basic discovery scanner or play guess the star over and over again lol.

I forget the system, but I had one a few nights ago where the stars were about 350k ls apart... I know this because I was there looking for USS for a mission, so I decided to head to the other star while searching just because :)

~2.4kk LS in triple star system, if I remember correctly, it's the distance for the third star in Zeta Aquilae

The largest known for the moment is Sigma Orionis - 0.26LY between two of the stars. Took me around five hours to explore the whole system. :D

yep. i felt like a total genius for using parallax right away like this, then i realised it was wasted effort when advanced discovery scanner just does all the work for you

I'm in a system called FROARKS EU-I C12-14 which is around 13,000 ly from sol and just come across a star that is 605,164 light seconds from the entry point, set course and had time to go to the loo, get changed and make a cup of tea and still had to sit around for another quarter of an hour to get within scanning range, arrgghh, lol

that one above for over 2 million light seconds would have to be a pass i'd reckon, heh.

If you are exploring, you defiantly want an Advanced Discovery Scanner. I have seen several secondary stars in the 500k ls- 600k ls range
