FAS or FDS

Post 2.2.03 wondering if a FDS is any good PvE now with engineer mods for PvE. Have a maxed python and a vulture and figuring its time to try a new ship upgrade for pure PvE and hearing the FDS is now pretty good? Thoughts and loadout suggestions please...

FAS always. It's like a Clipper with good hardpoints, smaller profile and better defences. Never been a fan of the dropship myself.

I completely agree in general thought-- but ~why~ in the milky way would you compare a FAS to a ship with a solid shielded 224 tons of cargo space? Why would you compare a FAS to one of the best mid-range mining ships in the game? The FAS is lots of things but that's a strange analogy. My joystick is like a keyboard with less buttons and three analog axes, yes?

Generally though, yes. The dropship is the runt of the litter. The other two Federali ships-- the FAS and the FG-- are carving out niches for themselves.

Heck, even the Keelback is carving out a niche for itself, especially since Na'Qan's PvP videos with reverb torps etc. killing all manner of ships. But alas, the Dropship has not yet found a niche-- not even a small indentation or a modest surface depression, but definitely no niche that I have seen.

Cargo hauling? Mining ship? Is that what you've been using your clipper for? Don't let the Gutamaya technicians hear that or they'll have a collective heart attack.

I have always been a FAS fanatic but I'm going for the full on RNGineered FGS now.
Sorry FAS, you will always have a special place in my heart

Cheers guys...FAS it is...mind you...Whilst saving for a fas I have been grinding fed rank in a python...now have increased range fsd, overvhage pp, dirty thrusters, Thermal resist shield, max overcharged mc, resist shiled boosters and working on Scramble Spectrum burst lasers and it rocks. Drop into minefields and mine and collect bounties on anything that attacks me including anaconda and fdl
