Fast radio bursts

There are neutron stars with jets that oscillate on a very high frequency, which is as close as we get. If you flew too close to one you'd crash out at the exclusion zone like every other star and be able to get away.

I've not really noticed that the jets are more dangerous than more sedate neutron stars, people who go in hot rather than easing in near the end of the jets at low speed may have a different opinion.

Yes, I've discovered the joy of the neutron highway. The rapidly rotating starts are intimidating when approaching but the cone is wider inside and no more turbulent than a slowly spinning star.

It would be interesting to have the the occasional neutron star as highly magnetic and requiring either serious thrusting or emergency frameshifting to escape.
