General / Off-Topic Favorite sci-fi ship????

I know... I know.... it's sort of been asked before but I wanted to get opinions prior to multicrew coming out. What's your favorite sci-fi spaceship/starship and what ship in ED best represents its sci-fi equivalent? In addition, why is the Elite Dangerous ship a close match for your fav?

Ill be completely honest, I have no idea

I love more or less every ship in different franchises, because the end of the day theyre all spaceships each with their own unique character and crew. I love Voyager as much as I love Imperial Star Destroyers as much as I love the Daedalus from SG. Theyre all so cool and so well designed.

The only ship I can safely say I truly dislike the look of is the new ship for Star Trek Discovery

EDIT:
I do have a favourite actually thinking more about it:

My favourite Sci-Fi spaceship is the Daedalus from Stargate SG-1. To me it just looks how a military starship made from a mix of modern and alien tech should conceivably look - pretty much like an aircraft carrier in space.

In that regard I think the Anaconda (moreso than the Corvette) matches it pretty well - especially when you fit a HUGE BEAM LASER onto it and colour it cyan to look like an Asgard beam weapon.

Not my favourite, but I did like The Liberator. Quite like the Imperial Trader, which of course is one of the many FE2/FFE ships that never made it to ED.

My CobraIII is the Falcon. It's about the same size, it's used for the same purposes, it's old, it looks like a piece of junk, and I even made a lot of special modifications myself. My buddy says when multicrew goes live he'll grow his hair out and be a Wookiee copilot.

That being said, there are waay too many cool ships to have one absolute favourite. Red Dwarf to Executor to Nostromo to Hotblack's sundiver to Yamato/Argo; just too many cool ships. The ultimate answer is yes.

Edit: Jeebus the 1999 Eagle omg how did I forget that. I want that ship in this or any game.

Space 1999 and U.F.O.'s aliens used to scare the pants off me hah... erm Red Dwarf and Nostromo come pretty close to being ideal. Just normal people doing normal things on huge lumbering, dirty industrial ships.

Edit: I forgot Battlestar Galactica. It just looks like a bad huge battlewagon.

That is my favorite Sci-fi ship. I honestly don't know if it has any counterpart in ED. I guess the FDL is about as close as it gets.

So many choices, for many different reasons!

I love the Millenium Falcon, such a groundbreaking bit of production design - it's so rare to find something asymmetrical in Hollywood movies and I love it's grimy practicality. I love Firefly's Serenity in this way and for the same reasons, but I'd prefer something with a bit more fire-power if I had to choose.

I love the gothic grandeur of the Imperial Navy space-going cathedrals of 40K: Big, buttressed battering-rams covered in gargoyles and angel wings. Awesome! The nearest Hollywood got to that look-and-feel was the Cygnus in Disney's Black Hole - another favourite of mine.

I love the symbiotic biology of Moia in Farscape (I once even made a remote-control DRD for a convention). Also, a ship that can breed sounds like a great idea. Another organic ship that a lot of folk forget about is the LEXX. There's a lot wrong with LEXX as a ship (those food dispensers, ewwww), but anything that can blow up a planet is kinda awesome, too.

And last, but not least, the sheer model-builders delight of Space Battleship Yamoto: Love the idea of retrofitting a WW2 Battleship for space fun. I used to look out for old ship and 'plane Airfix model kits when I was a kid to bash them together into spaceships, long before I know Yamoto anime existed: It was like finding someone had shared the same childhood sci-fi fantasies.

Without a doubt my all time favorite sci-fi spaceship is the Enterprise A from the original Star Trek.

It’s a ship of exploration, yet it can fight when it has to. It’s a ship of limits, she’s rough and not completely luxury cruise-ified like later versions of the ship. You can feel the rumble of the deck plates when she’s pushing her limits! She has character, graceful lines yet purposeful features in her design.

There is no Elite equivalent. Elite’s galaxy is far too combat focused and brushes off exploration like an afterthought, where the Enterprise was designed for exploration. The Anaconda would probably be the closest Elite approximation, but in actuality it’s not even close.
