I remember somewhere there was a breakdown of who designed which ships... I'll see if I can find it.

One of my friends while i was at uni in cambridge had a job designing the ships for frontier.

Meh, I'm a little sleepy this morning - Decided that it was a good idea to get up and do some exercise - hopefully avoid the whale rescue squad being called next time I'm on a beach
Loving it - it's been a few years since I was last Dangerous! I should really fire up FE2 again and justify my lofty status LOL

Congrats on becoming Dangerous, Steve.
I did notice yesterday but didn't say anything.
Does that mean you've only another 5,500 ish posts to go to Elite status (reference to another post somewhere about 6000 posts for Elite status.)
I like it, but I have to go with my initial decision of the Constrictor being my favourite. No matter what I'm flying, if I ever come up against an enemy in a Constrictor I get that tiny pang of worry that, because they're in the coolest looking ship, they could be a tough opponent. Always not the case, but it just harps back to Elite.
My second choice would be the Asp, my third choice the Pather Clipper. Those are the three ships I chop and change between in game.
Sorry but i just can't see the appeal, other than the fact it's the biggest ship in Frontier.
It's ugly, slow, bad HS range, easy to hit.
I don't know why they call it a clipper rather than a trader/freighter. "Clipper" implies a military use, and the panther is only really of use in trading.
It's too slow and has too little range to be practical in high-end military missions.
For making a fortune by trading between safe systems though, yes it's probably the best.
It's a good point, I would assume it came from the old tea clipper ships of the 19th century, but they tended to be light and fast...deinatly not how you would describe a Panther!
