Favorite SLF loadout poll(s)

With 2.3 approaching, I wanted to find out which fighter loadout would be the safest bet for random CMDRs joining my crew.

I want to like the Taipan (I think it's the coolest), but its flight model just isn't worth it. GU97 with beams, and / or F63 with MCs.

Well the i fighter with beams and heat sink is the best one. Ifighter has the smallest hit box so its hardest to kill, it has good maneuverability and speed, beams and heat sink because those allow you to use the heat sinks trick to get extra DPS.

That is the best fighter loadout so its the choice for player who is good at flying and know how combat mechanics work in elite.

For player who isn't that good i would take the Taipan with any weapons you like (tho hit scans weapons like beams are easy to use same with all gimbals) and then take chaff so you can avoid hits little better if you can't use the maneuverability to avoid taking hits and if you can ifighter is better choice.

I'm finding the GU-97 too slow for the pursuit role. The same low mass that's responsible for much of it's agility cause it to bleed speed faster than any other, and it has a significantly lower boost speed than either the Taipan or Condor.

For anti-SLF duty, I favor the beam Taipan. The Pulse/PDT Taipan is also the SLF best suited to survive seeker attacks, as it can take three hits in rapid succession before going down and is the only SLF that has it's utility mount on top of the vessel.

The MC Condor is the best pursuit SLF by far.

GU-97 is a superb dogfighter against ships it can keep up with and is much better against SLFs than the Condor is, though worse in this regard than the Taipan, IMO.
