No idea if we'll get more story/career levels going forward (although I somewhat doubt we will, which is a pity) but I was thinking about how much I enjoyed that aspect of the game and I wanted to turn to you all and hear your thoughts! In particular, I wanted to ask what your favourite career level/s have been, for each of the following categories:
Favourite aesthetic--i.e., which scenario did you love the look of the most? (all the architecture of the game is so gorgeous, so the struggle is real, but if you had to choose)
Favourite challenge--i.e., which scenario did you enjoy the challenge of the most/which did you find most difficult + most rewarding?
Favourite story/goal--i.e., I know the story itself is a little thin on the ground, but was there one scenario which you loved the premise/purpose of more than the others?
And if you have one in mind:
Favourite overall level--i.e., the best combination of the above, the one you've had the most fun with!
I think for me, favourite aesthetic was probably Squeezing the Margins (I loved the Greek style building and how densely detailed it all was, crammed in together and layered), favourite challenge is a tie between Hiring Freeze and The Last Leg, and favourite story/goal (besides the part where that horrible slimy man was booted) would be Steeped in Pollution, because I just loved slowly turning it into a lush forest again.
Favourite overall is very difficult to pick but I think maybe Hiring Freeze? It's a close second for me in aesthetic, if only because I love how slightly janky and purposefully unfinished everything is. It feels very real and grounded--and the buildings were very fun and quirky. Plus the challenge was--maybe ironically--the first one to actually make me sweat and use my brain to figure out solutions.
How about you?
