Favourite VR Cockpit?

Hi all,

When I had my DK2 (CV1 coming March) I loved the Eagle cockpit. The glass was close, so where the screens so I could read the text easily. I've recently got an Imperial Courier. Really looking forward to seeing the rounded glass cockpit and an Asp Scout. Looking forward to looking through the glass floor. What are some of the best cockpits you have seen? I'm too poor to have seen some of the bigger ships.

I bought dk2 few weeks ago and I'm currently heading to Sag. A with DBX, so that is only cockpit I've seen, allthough it is one of my favorites on regular screen. I just cannot wait what my T-7 looks like, when even DBX feels so spacious now!

I like most of them individually (tho asset reuse in multiple ships disappoints) but for me its probably the federal fighter (not tried imperial equivalent yet)

The Couriers Cockpit certainly is nice. I just wished it was more confined and the seat position was a little higher and closer to the front like an actual jet fighter - always feels a little like having the head positioned where the pilots bottom would be in a contemporary fighter. The Eagle is closer to the experience.

Still one of the better ones in VR.

As for bigger ships: I really like the FAS and Corvettes cockpits. Visibility is poor but they have centred seats, are dark and the FAS has dual coffee machines :).

I like the glas domed cockpits best I think. The sight from inside a T6 can be breathtaking in VR and the Vuture is also a lot of fun, but honestly, every single ship copckpit/bridge I had the pleasure to experience in VR (in ED!) was fabulous.

I like the Imperial Fighters cockpit.

Nice and snug.

ASP explorer has interior design flaw. It is specially visible in VR but you need to look at it and think about it :) In VR you get the urge to walk around and if you look at the front panel you can see the opening on the right-left side and probably front also where you can fall down in to the opening if you are not careful when walking there. Also additionally, walking platform edge has negative incline there where you can slip and fall if you are not extra careful.
Just my not so important observation in VR when looking around in lovely cockpit.

My favourite was always the Python. It looks like a racing car, yet there are little things, like a lose cable on the floor that make it look "lived in" and functional. Stairs to the rear cabin. Lighting. Overhead hand-rails. It just looks so cool.

The first time you fly a Lakon Type-6 and Type 7, you come in to land and go "woah!" at the pad coming up from below. Great visibility on those ships. The Asp too.

Flying a Lakon Type 9 Heavy is like sitting in a high-chair in a greenhouse turning on it's end, flying through the sky pulling a giant barn behind you! Epic scale!

The Anaconda is a true bridge. Big enough for a bowling alley! The navigator and engineer stations look amazing. The carpet in front of the lift doors has "Bridge" written on it.

I sold my DK2 last year, so I haven't had the chance to try the post 1.5 ships, so I shall have to wait until my Oculus CV1 arrives in April.

Both Eagles & the MKIV Viper work really well in VR, the small cockpits work great for viewing the side menus by bringing them much closer to view
But still can't beat the mood lighting of my clipper

You state the MK IV specifically.... does this mean the cockpit has had a 2nd pass since beta?. last i looked the cockpit was identical to the MK3 (ie complete cut and paste wear and tear as well!!! :( )and as such was one of the biggest disappointments of 1.5 for me, despite potentially being a fun little ship

I always liked the Cobra - the Mk III, not so much the Mk IV. The first time I put the DK2 on and looked across and saw the copilots seat was a real OMG moment for me. I agree with what a lot of people say about the Eagle. the closeness of the glass makes it feel like a real fighter - give me a ship with the Eagle's cockpit, the Vulture's capabilities and the noise of the Viper and I'll be a really happy bunny.

Couldn't really say Mike as it's been such a long time since I have seen the MK 3, I just remember the last beta test I was having a look at the new ships and jumped into the MK IV and thought WOW this works really well

The Python is definitely my favourite mid size ship in VR, the bridge feels really comfortable. Recently started flying my T9 again, hauling high rank cargo to planetary ports around the bubble. Despite having the Cutter and Anaconda, nothing beats the feeling of scale when I'm looking down below me on approach to a port, or just docked but still sitting so high above the ramp - Have remembered why I love flying this ship in VR, it's such a beast.
