Fc question

Something to consider

Jumping the fc takes an hour.

Simple enough.

Can you the leaseholder leave the carrier during this time?

Is so you could watch it jump. Then catch up.

You could also just miss redocking before the jump for some reason... Code brown... Wife... Kids... Phone... Whatever...

What happens if the fc jumps to somewhere you are not able to reach.

Right on edge of galaxy are stars in the fc jump range, but not of any ship you can fly.

What happens then? Can you remote access the fc? I was a little unsure on this after the video.

Still something else to mull over and then check tomorrow for someone who can afford to.

You can remote access the carrier, and jump it back.

Of course, if it does not have enough fuel in it at this point.... Then I guess we may be calling Houston with a problem.

It takes 15mins to jump the carrier. You can indeed jump ahead in your ship and watch your carrier arrive. You do not need to be on the carrier for it to jump, this can be done via your ship. You get a new control panel in the right pane of your ship (where you find engineers, codex etc) which is Carrier Management. Here you can set its navigation, transfer funds etc.

If you jump your carrier to a position where you cannot reach it in your ship, you then jump the carrier back.

This thread is a necro from before the beta where the proposal was that it did take an hour.

God, I was about to say that's where I was expecting they were coming from.

I'm also a bit concerned about Commander Viscera .. he asked the question in April 2020 but didn't get a reply until circa March 2021 .. Is there a skeleton mildly resembling him, helming a fleet carrier, deep in deepest space somewhere? The Viscera Celeste?

Maybe it's a Rescue Necro ...

Reports of a space suit full of visceral fluids floating around on a distant planet being chased by a mongrel dog, (romoured to be a beagle pointer crossbreed) are fake news.

Fake news i tell you.

Sloshing sounds...

Woof...
