FD, can we have a location & context-sensitive Wiki in the game?

Without Google (and this forum), I'd have no idea about the Thargoid bases, or much of the other content in included in the game (Mega Ships, CQC installations, Ancient Bases, Unknown Probes etc). Galnet doesn't go far enough. I can't even view all blueprints for an engineer without using a 3rd party site (thanks Inara).

As more content is added to ED, there's surely more need for in-game documentation, perhaps with the 'headline' items dependent on where you are in the galaxy. The information available to players within the Mass Effect series of games is a great example of how this could work within ED.

At the very least it would be nice to read about the various aliens and history of the superpowers during a long supercruise trip.

THIS. The game desperately needs much more in game information. It is just so sad to see how much the game suffers just because the information is not in game. How many players are frustrated because they don't know how to trade and make a profit in decent time? How many are frustrated because they are trying to find the Thargoid bases but only know the system (that GalNet tells you), but not the planet and coordinates? How many are annoyed by having to fly to an engineer to check the blueprint for some (not pinned) mod? The list goes on an on (outfitting, shipyards, asteroid station, cqc assets,...).
eddb.io should be in game as a minimum. And there should be a collection of information (wiki or not) where you can check anything that may be required to do something. Consultation of external resources should not be a necessity.

I'd love to watch a PS4 player play this game and discover most of the content in it, without access to 3rd party sites or this forum.

I've been playing since Early Access on Xbox. I still can't discover market prices for the system next door without using eddb.io. Those non-combat core gameplay improvements can't come soon enough, ditto a Wiki.

Yes, just yesterday i read a report from a new PS4 player. He bought some stuff (that was above gal avrg) and checked the galmap for systems that import that stuff. when he arrived the price was even lower, so he assumed he made some mistake. i felt sorry for him, because he will just wast his time trying to figure out trading with the galmap. he will not be able to make a decent profit. that sucks and discourages players.
