In the Powerplay beta I got to test the Diamondback, and though I liked it it was easily replaced with an Asp (since I have the credits to do so). That's fine because the Asp is my favorite ship. What about the Imperial Courier though? Well, I couldn't tell you. I couldn't find a station that HAD an Imperial Courier to test! I went to 14 different stations specifically looking for a certain ship just to test is to help YOUR beta and give feedback but now here I am giving my feedback on why blindly going system to system is by far the dumbest way to look for a ship.
I had to do this for another ship too. I wanted to go back to an Asp from my Federal Dropship or exploring and combat. It took me 7+ systems to finally find a station that carried an Asp. With supercruise and docking times, this is ridiculous. I shouldn't have to spend 2 hours to find a ship I want.
Can we please have SOME way to see where we can buy a certain ship? If we own a ship at a station there's a tab on that system called "Ships", and it shows where your ship is and what ship it is. Why can't we have something like this for the shipyard to see what we can buy at a shipyard?
The year is 3301. I can call a car dealership several towns over and ask if they have a Honda Civic, where they could then say "Yes" or "no". Why can't we see stations within a 20LY radius and what ships they carry? Did phone and telecommunication systems die in the year 3300?
