Greetings,
I know it might be super duper late in the development of 2.4 for me to post this, but I've been meaning to do so for a very long time. I can only hope that I can get this out there in time.
Guys...Please, for the release of 2.4 and the Thargoid return, please do not make it so that we need to have a specific anti-Thargoid ship load out.
My personal preference in Elite since the very beginning has always been to get a ship that is equipped (and engineered) to do (almost) everything I need it to do. And although I realize that this is potentially me being quite subjective here, I'd like you all to consider the current state of PvP in Elite: Dangerous.
What I'm referring to, of course, is the fact that in the current state of the game, anyone who intends to PvP in any serious fashion needs a load out tailored specifically for PvP, essentially stacking up on SCBs, Shield Boosters and HRPs/MRPs. This also entails removing "fun" or "useful" modules like a Planetary Vehicle Hangar, or a Collector Limpet Controller which add a lot of soul to a game like this.
Realistically, I'm not asking to have the best PvP capable ship without fitting it precisely for such a purpose. But when I see a combat ship that has no Fuel Scoop, for example - or no planetary landing capability, I perceive it as just something used to "pew pew" things, and Elite deserves to be much more than that.
So, once again, rephrased my request is the following:
Whatever you have in store for new modules, weapons or utility mounts, please do not make them exclusively anti-thargoid. If we need specific anti-thargoid weaponry, please figure out a way to fit them on our current ships without using currently existing space, just like you did with the Planetary Approach Suite back when Horizons launched.
Thank you.
P.S.
Please move the Planetary Approach Suite to the Core Internals of a ship, rather than having it in the Optional Internals. And while you're at it, move the recently added military slots of applicable ships from Core to Optional.
Thanks!
