FD should totally hire these dudes ...

- the stuff one can squeeze into 64KB - sound, visuals, code...

To see it in action: http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=67113 - download the exe - whopping 64K :D

Every single thing seen/heard in the youtube vid is generated by the 64K executable!

EDIT: note, your anti-virus might (or more likely, will) flag the .exe as a virus whereas it's not. This is due just how the .exe operates, and a whole slew of viruses do things the same or similar way. Do NOT disable your antivirus, just whitelist the demo itself.

This demo is somewhat CPU-intensive (for me it uses up two cores and ~55% of total CPU power).

Absolutely amazing stuff! Great you didn´t post it yesterday I would not have believed you :)

The AntiVirus screams when you download the zip-file but it´s not a problem. Amazing 64K file :D should this be a game or a promotion for the developers itself? I am so curious about the first planets with an atmo on ED <3

Can see why they won, but have to say Farbrausch did their dark magic on that scene compo themselves :D

Edit: ninja'd by anikaiful

Then again, they did make a 96K first person shooter called .kkrieger some time ago, so shouldn't be wondering. Very nice work from both groups though.

These people do absolutely amazing things within the super-strict exe size limits. I saw the first vid... was like "real neat", then noted the size of code what produced the whole thing... and that quite literally blew mind to 64K pieces.

These dudes can work magic within 64K, what could be they able to do with free reign? Cram the whole ED into 1MB package? Probably.

People think procedural generation comes up with dull results, but ... how wrong those people are in thinking so.

It makes me sad thinking we are paying so much for such heavy weighted game like ED, and it cant come close to what a few guys achieved in 64k

Try Star Citizen for a measure... you pay a few hundred bucks to gaze at someone's pixels - and then it crashes.

But in all seriousness, if FD hired people who can do *this*... we, players, would be in for a treat beyond our dreams.
