What you think about to give us some "thargoid hunter decal"? Or may be give it to anyone who even try?

Cause this CG is not about money at all..

So, what you think? Are we deserve a decal for this?

I think FD has something else in mind for those who contributed... :)

I thought long and hard about the possibility that killing a Goid would "mark" you and make you subject to hostile hyperdictions forever more, but as soon as xenocide was made into a CG the odds of that went negligible in my mind. It's Fdev - I can just about -on a wildly optimistic day - imagine them being able to pull off a "good thargoid - bad thargoid" plot twist but it's been 5 weeks now with nothing from even Canonn other than some derelict bases and funny trees. So I gave up my "innocent until proved guilty" roleplay and decided to see how tough this boss fight was (it's tough)

I also found it odd that the reward was set at 2m, a sum that is laughable given that post nerf passengers in Rhea are paying more for 4 danger-free minutes of your time (and passengers in the ongoing gold rush are paying 2m per 51 seconds of your time). This low reward would have raised an alarm bell, but we've seen CGs that value explosives that require a long press of the '+' icon the same as thargoid mats that require an hour to pick up and corrode your ship, CGs that want you to haul 10,000t of fruit at 10cr profit over 30 Lys plus 30 k Ls SC, CGs that expect you to haul your 15Ly Corvette to Colonia. So hard to say 'this one was fishy'...

Also 2m is about the cost of 1 repair in a Goid fight - and you'll be making between 2 and 5 such repair trips. And you have a real risk - like 50/50 your first time - of a rebuy...

Actually, having just good and bad Thargoids would be horribly shallow and like bad B-rated Sci-fi. They are alien. Sometimes they seem docile and curious, sometimes they attack, or take away our people. We don't understand how they think. And that's cool! Why do you need to divide them in some generic human-like factions?

Yeah, and where is the Decal for Solo players? This game is biased towards group play! This is not how it was promised!

* Playing devil's advocate here.

IMO you should get the decal too if you take down Thargoids while in solo.

Edit: I haven't actually managed to do that myself.

You get a "PROBE ON DETECTION" Emblem for All your Ships...

Better keep Plenty of OnionHead on hand...

If anything the tier of the CG will determine how aggressively the Thargoid will respond to our xenocide.

Still waiting for the red variants...

It was just a quick and dirty example off the top of my head - substitute any plot twist you like. Most players are now convinced there in no plot twist at all coming, it's just a cliched generic alien invasion and we need to mass murder all the Xenos. Because 5 weeks have passed and there's no "story" other than little easter eggs that are more lore building.

The good Thargoid - bad Thargoid inspiration came from the book Premonition which describes the two factions in that way and was the reason my wing mates refused to go hunting with me in the days after release

That gif is (sadly) all too applicable for most of the "milestones" in this game. But if you can smoke a goid after the last "adaptation" you do actually have skills beyond "participation". This is the first time since I upgraded my first Cobra that I actually felt scared I was going to rebuy all throughout the 30 min fight, and using everything I'd learned in ED so far. The fastest Goid kill came from a well organised team fighting smart, displaying situational awareness despite the lethal new fireworks, and communicating actively. There was a grand total of zero Mobius players outside Oracle for about 45 mins this morning so on top of the goid you need to survive the 'emergent content delivery teams' of Open when your hull is down to 9% and your guns only work on xenos.

It is my general opinion that decals, free stuff, megaships, player factions etc should be given by FDev when they want, not asked for. It sets a dangerous precedent that they couldn't possibly hope to fulfil.

My time killing is 13-16 min per one goid. However, i can't kill them again and again. This is quite exhausting gameplay.. So i mostly kill one, and later another one. Sometimes 2 in a row, or 3 or 4. But i can't do that for long. It is really exhausting. Which is GOOD. Thankfully.

But.. they only release free stuff when they want to get attention to their online shop, decals stuff never get released for achievements in game.

Well, it kinda happened twice tbh. In four years.

Eh, I can care less about given an achievement ribbon.

I've been flying in the CG system instructing people. It's been fun.

The cynic in me thinks I will have to rely on other Cmdr eventually. The more competent cmdrs there are the better for our future encounters.

With all that stupid barriers like "No Gimbals For You" or "Specifically Designed Weapons Which Has No Use Except Designed For"? No.

I congratulate you on being so "gud". Now, can we who are "not so gud" also have fun? Pretty please?

Befriend those that are 'gud' to help you while you play support?
