In 3100 - with minimal fuss or fanfare - the Pilots Federation absorbed the rights to provide all of the hardware and software that manages shipboard systems for the vast majority the galaxy's independent pilots. This enabled them to integrate these systems with their data harvesting mechanisms - allowing the shadowy organisation to implement permit locks, galaxy-wide bounties and exclusion zones.
The auto pilot functions (SCA and the two docking computers) fall within the PF's remit - although with the scorn heaped upon hese modules by some older pilots, these had historically been rather neglected by the PF administration. Their popularity, particularly among newer pilots, however, presented the PF with some difficulty. The solution that was decided upon was to outsource the onboard pilot assistance systems to the private sector. Unfortunately for pilots - with IT procurement being what it is - the contract went to the lowest bidder. The autopilot software can't function properly without those antennae.

Oh they can, they can make machines as smart as you, the last few times they did this it tried to kill everyone, so they banned it and we have to make do with a poor replacement;

Machine sentience has been banned in Federal, Empire and Alliance space due to it having been proven very dangerous when it was created on a few occasions. AI which imitates humans is less advanced than machine sentience. However, it is believed that one or two AI (sentient machines) have escaped into deep space.

Well either that or it has become to smart and is deliberately trying to kill you, the point being of course is you can't tell. It's either just the regular poor AI we are allowed to have and it accidently crashed, or you've been fiddling with it and made it to smart and it decided to kill you!

I've been thinking the same thing, auto-pilot in Odyssey is totally useless .. before Odyssey it used to actually land quite well, but now it's so broken. I go almost on the pad and engage it, then it just turns nose up and BOOOSTS away until it's like 3km away, then SLOOOWLLYYY turns around and lands ..

When using auto-launch, it often just sits and waits in "queue" that doesn't even exist and then it manages to get stuck in airlock and smash my shieldless cutter, causing me like 300000+ credits damage. it just literally got one of the "wings" stuck in the airlock, i had to manually reverse out. if i wasn't looking at screen, it would have gotten the fine and then bounty for blocking airlock and boom ...

NO! those antennas look cool, just because you don't know how to fly even a medium ship, doesn't mean they'd have to remove those cool looking antennas. I like Krait's looks. Phantom is one of the best looking ships and those antennas are part of it, it adds detail.

Since no one answered this, the paintjob rewards are unique to this CG and cannot be bought with ARX. They do have the same flowery motive as the ones available in store & twitch drops, but if you pay close attention you will see the difference.
