I keep finding myself shutting down my computer waaaaay past a normal bedtime. "Just one more jump/patrol/mission", "Hey, I wonder what's over there..."

Which says a lot about our lives and the need we have to break free from the daily tedium... oops.. my ship is calling me.... must...resists..loading game again...must... not.. succumb.... ahhh... sorry... bye gonna fly now! :D

Yes I have hardly had any time to play lately, so last night I decided enough was enough and going to bed would just have to wait.

Oh I got my money's worth back when we only had the first bubble with 50 systems... everything ever since has been pure enjoyment and icing on the cake... and it'll only get better and better.
So I may have to move under a bridge since working in RL has taken a back-burner slot in the ship of my life. :D

I wish I could stay up that late, might actually get to play this game then! Working and looking after 2 kids I'm exhausted by 11pm though. Maybe I need to start drinking coffee or something...

Back in the day, around '84-'85 a group of around 6 of us from work were all playing the original Elite. Each morning tea break we would discuss how e had got on the night before. How much money, any new ships bought etc. One of our group then went on to describe how at 3.30am he was still playing "just one more system, just one more" Freezing cold in an unheated extension and wrapping himself in dirty washing to keep warm enough. That's addiction. Trouble is 'ED' is worse.

They used to show hours played in your stats, they've taken it out now I'm glad to say as mine would be frightening.

Ive also been finding this, everytime the gf askes me smothing i say ah huh yes dear, and 30 mins later shes asking for the same help again lol she waited in the bedroom for 30 mins last night after she asked me to come help make the bed lol.

If I count how much time DBOBE already stole away from me with the prequels I get dizzy. I have spent literally years on end doing very little outside of playing Frontier and FFE. And even after that I kept coming back again and again, every time losing months! Well, David, you have done it again. Where in cods name shall I take the time from now? I'm grown-up and supposed to work now, you know? Don't have the silly "I'm a kid I'm allowed to waste my time" excuse anymore. Dang you for creating such addictive games.

What's that? Oh, I must be off, my Asp is calling...
