FD you appear to be dragging your feet re. updates to current issues

FD you are only a few days short of a month since the last set of fixes for the PC and Mac.
We realise they can often be complex, but come on guys, these issues are stacking up fast and you don't even keep us abreast of the situation except the occasional ok "Thanks I/we will pass that on" that's fine as far as acknowledging a report goes, however it dose little to keep the player base happy and notified, it make us feel as if your product aftercare is sadly limited either in staff / effectiveness or have their hands tied by some very slow in house policies, surely you can improve your fixes rate even just small amount and unblock the log jam of updates being awaited. Some will be extremely problematical but not all of them can be so earth shaking to resolve.

I think this meme is appropriate at the risk of having my wrists slapped by a mod:

99-bugs-in-the-code.jpg

They prefer to stick to big updates followed by a few smaller updates in the weeks directly after then a drought until the next big update. Lots of hotfixes and server side stuff we don't see but client updates are rare outside of the big update times.

Yes, this has been addressed many times before, however not a great deal has changed. Bugs that impact our ability to interact with the game should be prioritised for early patching. The Inbox text stacking bug is an example.

That may be so, but that certainly is not as it should be. I can think of numerous occasions on which there have been issues that (depending on what you like to do) are gamebreaking and yet have gone unfixed for literally months. Also that station wing-beacon bug has been in the game for like two YEARS now. These are things Frontier needs to patch immediately when they have a fix; not wait around until it's convenient for them to release a client update.

And why should we simply accept slow or no responses to some of these issues especially some of the older ones

OP is right. I will happily white knight for FD when criticism is unfair, but this criticism is spot on. The very worst thing about FD is their communication on issues and resolutions of such.

Take the ramming thing, and the skimmer rain before that (despite that I was only killed by skimmer rain once and have yet to be hit by a scrammer...many unbelievably close calls though). It was was dsiappointing AND paints a bad picture of FD that the skimmer issue was allowed to go on for so long. Now we have scramming and not so much as an acknowledgement of the issue, that I am aware of, let alone when it's going to be fixed (which should be YESTERDAY!).

Here Comes The Judge!

Yes constant negative reinforcement will surely make them work faster.

So many armchair quarterbacks - so little understanding.

I don't agree, I'm an amateur developer, I work in IT 28 years, I have deep knowledge of game theory, change and development processes and infrastructure concerns. There is no excuse for FD's poor communication on serious issues. Experienced members such as yourself saying 'this is fine' is what sends the wrong message to the dev team, imo.

There's excuse - people online are kinda wild bunch. Despite what FD say or even not say, it gets toxic pretty fast.

Several years ago about 4 - 6 devs posted on regular basis.

Now it has been decreased to few ones, and mostly it is Ed who does the talking.

3 things fdevs can do asap: nerfing fun apart, ban accounts and close accounts. Fixing bugs? Nahhh next month...

Give them time lad, give them time. Everything these days is instafix. Whilst I agree there may be issues that need amending, I would rather have a permanent fix than a short fix that leads to more issues. Perhaps people of my generation are more relaxed when it comes to time, bearing in mind it used to take four days for a letter to arrive and then wait another four days for a response to any issues if you were lucky.
