You will need another ~??GB of HDD space for this other client...
It will show up in the library after using code as another Elite dangerous client to download... So you might want to put the Live build in a Folder called live and the beta built in a folder called beta if none of your games are in folders allready...
Edit = The Custom configs will not work from the LIVE game as this is a stand alone beta client... So screen shot the controlls if you don't allready have a back up made so that you can set them on the beta client...

As posted in the topic about the beta you can download the full beta client on Monday or you can down load the existing disabled beta client version a head of time and then download a smaller update for the beta client on Monday after the beta client is enabled for update, its not insured that the update on monday will be a small patch it can be a full complete reinstall and bigger for the beta.
Those who want to preload and hope for a smaller patch can do so and hope the update is not very big or you wait till monday like PC users have to and download only once...
