Fdev is Godhanding the burning of the Bubble to the detriment of all players

Fdev has said there's more than 1 way to stop the Thargoids. I'm betting they want us to find another way before the course of the storyline changes. Perhaps the entire (hidden) point of the DW2 expedition is to find some other way to beat them? I bet there's more to the Thargoid story than meets the eye.
I also think the vast majority of pilots (myself included) just don't see the urgency in fighting them. I mean yeah they are there, mentioned in Galnet etc but you can still play the game and not ever see a Thargoid if you don't want to. None of my ships are set up to take them on, so I avoid them. I did some station evacs but that was really only to advance my rank and get a permit.
Another line of thinking... I wouldn't really expect humanity to have a fighting chance against an advanced civilization that's been around for millions of years, that managed to effectively beat the Guardians. You mentioned Fdev intentionally changing the formula to let the least-defended systems burn. I got news for you, that's not godhanding, it's just smart strategy. If you were a general fighting a war, why WOULDN'T you attack the least-defended systems?
I say let it play out and see what happens. Maybe the storyline needs to have humanity retreat to Formidine, or Colonia, or something like that. Maybe humanity needs to be on the brink of destruction before the scales are tipped in our favor.
