@FDev - Please, never again add 30+ npc ships in front of a CG station for ?? flavour ??

That is one crazy radar, Ive never seen that tbh
Go to Baal and dock at the CG station. You'll see it.

That being said, other than a little longer load time on dropping into the instance, the game doesn't stutter or suffer for me.

It was happening in Mobius PG the other day and also this arvo. I believe it is a build-up of NPCs over a long-persisting instance (i.e. open or a busy PG with continual presence of commanders) as it was not aparrent when I went back in another PG.
Yes, long lasting instances build up "stuck" npcs, that should disappear but don't. It got a bit better over the years, at least I haven't experienced any "ghost" containers lately, that exist for some CMDRs and not for others.

Still, when teabagging for a long time we reset the instance after a while to clear it (of course only possible if it is just us in the instance at that time - ideally that never happens)

Just experienced this again, but much worse, still in Mobius and no bad stutter but everything was very slow and the framerate was in single figures.

Run about a half dozen rare laps and the same in fetch missions for the CG station and I've never had any of these issues (PC, mobius, UK morning and midday )

In Solo the ships were gone, I had them only in Open. Rejoice in choice.
In the last Community Goal before the break (Golkonda ?) I experienced much worse runbberbanding and lag.
Edit: I am currently there to collect my reward. If I wasn't allied wit the Empire It'd be great to gather scan data. They should wake more.

PS4 has asset generation locked... youll not see frame rate drop youll see less AI assets all the time...
same happens in CZ, installations and the rocks for mining...
PC will see Frame rate crashes instead of items not being rendered... Frame rates bad enough as it is on conole...

You're wrong in this regard. I play on PS4 and trust me when I tell you this, I have screenshots of a radar stacked with even more activity than seen in the screenshot here. There is definitely not a restriction on the ship count on PS4 outside of these stations and there is evident frame drop, sometimes quite severe, where commands to raise landing gear or switch to external camera view etc are ignored. I do however imagine you're right about general Supercruise. As for Asteroids, I've been in some very very dense fields that match everything I saw on my PC game. Some scarce, other locations very dense depending on ring drop location aswell.

It's a old known issue (since release), if it's the same one I'm having in mind.
Having another player lingering at a station (for hours), someone you may not see (due to other bugs). They are keeping the session alive, causing the NPC to slowly lose direction and their sanity, causing them to start accumulating outside and inside the station over time.

If that player hangs about, then when you arrive at the station you enter that session where the all have crapped up:
  • The issue should not happen in Solo.
  • The issue can be produced both in PG and Open.
I've not bothered to report it myself for the past few years, since it was reported in the old bug system, and I've not been bothered by it.

You may be able to reproduce the issues yourselves, in high traffic systems having a friend sitting at a station for a while. Then you can go there and see it for yourselves.
We had fun with this back in the old days with all the gold & slave rush. Some folks fell asleep at the helm while others returned to overcrowded stations. Good stuff.

I saw that, I thought it was pretty cool seeing all those ships. I did notice that my FPS did drop from the usual 120's to around the mid 90s though, I wasnt bothered too much by the drop in performance. It was a pretty nice sight to behold.
