FDev please start to use COMMON SENSE

Hello commanders
Yes it is me again your friendly neighborhood Sky Marshall Vicktore Beskor of the EDF. And I would like to ask FDev to start to use some common sense when introducing new player minor factions into the game.

Let me explain. FDev is introducing a new player minor faction into the game and it's home system dose not make sense. They are a independent dictatorship. Now you maybe asking why is this a big deal.

Let me tell you their home system is going to be 30 yr from Hudson capital of Nanomam. I think you all can see where I am going with this. Not only dose it hurt the Hudson PowerPlay but this new player minor faction is going to see opposition in all of it BGS work. Their take over of their home system will always be under attack and if they try to expand they will find themselves in Constant battle.

Now you may ask yourself why do I care well this is just a prime example of the fundamental flaws within the current player minor faction mechanism we have to day.

Instead of allowing players to just pick our home system based on the government type, economics and Superpower alliance. And give us choices based on that criteria. FDev just plays hand of God and just places the player minor faction anywhere they pick. And I have to say some of them just don't do their due diligence before they pick their home system.

You see we at the EDF picked Okinura as our home system on purpose because we set out from the start as a Federal fleet that supports Hudson and we knew that are government type would not interfere with the Power.

They way player minor factions a created has to change going forward or more player minor factions are going to face the same opposition to their BGS.

SO PLEASE FDEV START TO USE SOME COMMON SENSE WHEN INTRODUCING NEW PLAYER MINOR FACTIONS.

Thank you

actually you need to wait 6 months for a PMF to be added in the game with a simple set of rules, you want it to be 2 years for the others now that your's is in ?

And I don't see the problem, really, some players have chosen a bad spot for their faction, well, that's their responsibility, not FD. Remember that they have to win the system first, then expand.

Frist off let me say this thread is not about what the EDF is going to do or not do and I am not complaining about the new PMF being added or the system they have chosen. We will do what we have to do you can be sure of that.

This thread was started because I want to bring into light some of the fundamental flaws their are in the way new PMF are added and that their needs to be a change going forward.

What I find surprising is how little commanders know about the details of the BGS. Many commanders complain that elite is a mile wide and only an inch deep. Well let me say this that could not be farther from the truth. If commanders would take the time and stop running from one CG to another CG and spend a little time in one place they would learn that the BGS is very dynamic and deep.
We at the EDF track, manipulate and successfully predict the BGS that's how we have gone from one system to seven and growing. Every action that the fleet takes is calculated and executed with forethought and planning . We leave very little to chance. When commanders say we do not control our PMF they are very wrong.
And I also feel that many commanders on this forum never do their due diligence and look up what the EDF has accomplished.

That being said I feel very strongly about how new PMF are added into elite needs to be looked at and revamped. Being apart of a good PMF is very rewarding and I want see many commanders have the same great experience that I am enjoying in Elite and being apart of the best fleet in the game.

I truly feel bad for this new PMF they may it harder than it needed to be for themselves and maybe if FDev would take some time to explain the ramifications of creating a PMF commanders could make more informed choices.

Ok let me make this simple for you they are 30 LIGHTYEARS AWAY FROM NANOMAM. Which means they are affecting the fortification cost in the bubble nearby NANOMAM. Not only that what happens once they start to expand out of their home system you get MORE independent dictatorships in Hudson space!!! I HOPE THAT CLEARS THIS UP FOR YOU!!!!!

Owww my ears! ;)

My apologies for getting the wrong impression from your OP. It would help if you were specific about which Control Sphere is threatened though, as the misunderstanding that HQs matter to PP is very pervasive.

Looks like you'll have some work to do to protect your spheres then, if the faction you are concerned about ever actually take over their new system, and grow to take over more than 50% of all the systems in the relevant sphere.

I don't really see that FD have done anything wrong though, if the faction is Independent they can legitimately be placed anywhere at all. And if your group don't like it, well then looks like you've got some extra game content to enjoy. Good luck!

Do I really have to explain how PowerPlay and the BGS is connected I don't think so.
No, you do, because he's right. One system with an unprofitable government type would only be important if it tipped the total number of exploited systems to more than 50% unprofitable. As Nanomam is a capital and unaffected by such considerations... Please explain.

But what I will say is this having an independent dictatorship in Hudson space is a bad thing and will not go without its consequences.
The only consequences come from not understanding PP. Does Nanomam have fortification/undermining triggers?

*edit*

You weren't clear about which control system was involved, but the point regarding government types stands. And you seem to have missed that factions can expand from an expanded system, so there's nothing in the game mechanics dictating that they stay in the sphere of one particular control system; depending on their position in the control bubble the faciton could expand into a different one right off the bat.

To be honest I do not want to give out their name or their home system. And I never said FDev did something wrong. All I am saying is that FDev should have explained to them the ramifications of their choice.
