Fdev, what was the deal with Witch Head Nebula?

Witch Head Nebula (WHN) suffers a Thargoid Incursion, systems burn for three months, Chloe Sedesi is MIA, and we hear nothing about it. No updates, no reassurances, no word of the engineer returning or finding refuge. Aegis Coalition decides to do a survey of the nebula, a team exercise to scout the area, see what they can do to provide humanitarian aid, maybe find clues people missed. Survey complete, share all the data in a big report, and the actual next day the WHN is no longer under duress. All attacked systems but one are now abandoned, the survivor being Shenve, who was requesting station repair for Hanna Enterprise.

Still in gear, Aegis Coalition gathers volunteers and carriers to repair the station within 40 hours. We offered OpIda to join, but they politely declined. Fair enough. They wanted Meta-Alloys, which we bought instead of harvested, cost a whopping 9 billion credits to do, but no way were we harvesting 5k+ Meta-Alloys considering that was what got them attacked in the first place.

Now, all is at peace, and we were expecting a mention in Frameshift Live or Galnet, or something, but it's like WHN was never under attack at all. It's business as usual. No thank you from Chloe, nothing from Federation or Alliance. It was burning for months and as soon as we fussed with it, the state changes overnight? That can't be coincidence. If it is, why that moment? What was the point of WHN being attacked? To show yet again that overharvesting barnacles es off Thargoids, this time because Azimuth's Experimental Stabilizer CG asked for so many Meta-Alloys? And if not a coincidence, why is there no mention of us providing the help and effort?

In summary, what was the point of Witch Head Nebula burning and why did Galnet not talk about it after the initial incursion days?

That is correct, yes, but we put that event up there. It was supposed to be for the nebula survey the week prior, but since we'd done that anyway it became station repair, which we proceeded to knock out of the park.

This week would have been the obvious time to have an article on it. Did Frontier just accidentally reset WH?
I second this(and thought the exact same). No GalNets from Friday to today, but apparently nobody in the story department seems to think that would’ve been a good moment to tell us more about that.
