FDEV you saved me a bunch of money!

Just wanted to say thank you FDEV, you saved me a bunch of money!

Back-to-back blown up in my Anaconda doing silly little cargo missions. Here's the fit so you can see it's not like I was running with no defense - https://s.orbis.zone/z_e

First one, I get interdicted and decide to fight. Totally owned in about 45 seconds by what had to have been (didn't see for sure) a deadly Python NPC pirate. I'll own up to this one, I shouldn't have been fighting with this current fitting. In addition to my re-buy, was hauling around the previous days exploration data so POOF a few more millions and more just about the lost time.

Second time I decide to do the right thing and run...oh, but now I'm mass-locked and my shield is withering away...oh again, about 45 seconds and BOOM, back to the station.

If I wanted this type of experience, I'd go back to playing Eve.

No need for a HOTAS setup now.

No need for a VR headset now.

Bye o/

is that a rage-quit?

lol, there's no danger in this game. They totally nerfed this game into boredom because of complainers and still, someone manages to complain that the game is not easy enough.

Why can't we have regions of space that are hard for players who want a challenge and regions that are so easy even the OP will be happy?

No, its a Noobaconda.

We are getting quite a few "I got wasted and shouldn't have, so this game sucks" posts lately. Regrettably, it is because of the incessant urge to reach the Big 3 ships at all costs without experiencing the game on the way up. The game, in the end, has a way of punishing you if you don't learn what it teaches you.

Ha, Well i think people have to learn it happens sometimes but there are the tools to help them evade and escape from situations. I had similar when trading and smuggling in a T9, 98% of interdictions i could escape the few i couldnt I had to be a bit smart, i did escape with 1% hull on the one occasion - I was buzzing after that. The 2 times i got killed i was pi55ed but it has to be factored in when doing stuff. OP i hope you feel calmer about it later on.

Yes, it leaves you feeling angry, even humiliated at times, but if we learn from the experience we do well.

This happened to me a couple weeks ago, but just once. In my defense, I was in a Type 9 and was interdicted by an Elite Anaconda. BTW, the Type 9 really needs a higher mass lock factor.

I guess an influx of new players who got lured in by the upcoming update, googled "best ship in Elite and how to get it in one-day grind" and got their feelings hurt?
Interesting that they're coming in waves.

...and going in flames.

Spot on.

I've got over 700 hours under my (purple) helmet at this point and just over 1 billion Cr which I have essentially made half of in a combination of an Eagle, Cobra III, Viper III, and Keelback.
I bought a Type-9 at half a billion and have managed to work up to the bill mark (with a few rebuys, but most of those where turrets (Grrrrr!) hitting security which then turned on me en-mass). Frankly, I hate flying the T-9, I only got it because of the vast amount one can make shipping basic meds to outbreak systems.

The n00b rush is real. I actually did it in EVE-online and lost my Battleship in 2 days, then I had 6 months of fun in frigates and cruisers till I joined a PvP based faction...I didn't need to repeat it in ED and I'm glad I didn't.

Oh yeah, I tested out a 'Conda on the test server a couple of days ago. Didn't like it at all.

ehm.

Yep the only way to stop this happening is for FD to introduce some time delay in buying certain size ships. Something like you have to have 250 game hours before you are eligible to purchase one of the big three. Yes I did think of ranking but that is no real indication, hell I am rated Deadly in Combat and trust me, I ain't a Combat pilot lol

Heh. I lived the noob rush, I'll admit. Ground my way through countless planetary scans back in 2.3, slid into my harmless-ranked, d-rated anaconda, and promptly had it shot out from underneath me. Twice, because dumb.

Here's the thing: it's not the game's fault. It's mine. I idiotically rushed through some great stepping-stone gameplay and payed a 50-million credit, humiliating price for it. I swallowed that pill, learned what a nutwit I was being, and figured out -- in no small way from help on this very forum -- how to not suck.

Learn. It's worth it. Sometimes it sucks. Admit when you make a dumbass move -- we all do it and there's no shame in it -- and learn.
