so yes, the FDL in very expensive. it flies pretty good and jumps ... lets just say "no SO good".
i bought one (to get that out of the way) and i am unsure it will be a keeper. i am in no way a FDL expert yet, used it for about 3 hours last night and played around a little with configurations on ed shipyard.
when comparing it to the clipper/python/anaconda, i am having a hard time finding out if it brings a ROI (return on investment) like the other ships do.
my current setup is A everything with military, 2x a-rating shield bossters, 4x fixed medium pulses and 1x huge gimb. canon, and firepowerwise i dont "feel it" yet really.
of course in compairsion to the python the FDL is much faster and much more agile, and in compairsion to the clipper it has stronger shields and the option for fixed weapons, but firepowerwise it is far below the python and when you dont count the gun placement, also below the clipper.
and while i would not call the FDL power starved per se, it does hardly have the power grid to support its hardpoints. at least i found as soon as i even put 2 medium beams in the setup, that leaves me with maybe 2 medium MCs and not many options for the huge slot from a power standpoint.
of course one is not FORCED to use a huge weapon in the huge slot, could also put in a large beam for example, but even 1 large beam will be very hard to the available powergrid of the FDL.
thoughts, opinions, tips ?
