FDL Overheat

Ok so ive been flying this thing forever. 2 or 3 days ago it started to over head when I fire my weapons.
I am wondering if anyone else is having this issue ?
Has something changed?

Ive changed nothing about this ship.
Not true. I swapped the pa in.
However ive used the pa in this configuration before and had no issues.
There is a possibility I have a differeent pa in there. I don't know I grabbed it out of storage.
What am I missing?
 
Awhile back they re-balanced the FdL since the original buff overcompensated and made it run entirely too cool. Now it's back to being closer to how it was when it was originally released. Running a Low Emission PP (level 1 will do) will get rid of the problem for the most part.

I'm running OCed Incendiaries on mine and DD5 thrusters. Generally don't have any heat problems.

That happened to me.

I was running a OC power plant one size smaller (it had a great roll and lots of power). Next thing I know, overheating, w/ no changes.

I swapped the undersized PP for the top size and put the OC mod on it. Output was higher and no more overheating.

PA's do require power and there may be a difference between same type/size stored weapons if you engineered them. Check in Outfitting and look at the numbers when selecting a replacement, you may spot the differences there and in the modifications tab.

It's only been in the last few days. I think it may be a glitch? Some coding has gone bonkers ? The shield cells don't regenerate (if they do I've parked it before ive noticed it) and the icon of my ship wobbles.
My Corvette and DBX are fine.

I'm thinking about selling and rebuying it to see if that fixes it.

Has anyone else had this issue ?

The only possibility it the PA I grabbed out of storage is different then the last one. I don't think so because I've never even
remotely had an overheating problem.
 
Not quite the same but I had a similar thing with my Cutter.
It's got (IIRC) 3 x G5 Efficient lasers on it and they all started overheating really quickly.

It happened right after 2.4 dropped and I was convinced that they'd just messed with the thermal load stat's so I just accepted that's the way it was going to be now.
Oddly, though, I've been flying my Cutter again recently and I'm not having the same problem any more.

Wasn't just a small difference, which might difficult to judge objectively, either.
Normally I can just target an average Anaconda, start shooting at it with lasers and not stop until it explodes.
While this was happening I couldn't fire the lasers for more than a few seconds without getting overeating and failures.

I don't have any evidence but, unless FDev did monkey with the stat's and then change them again to fix it, my guess would be that a "thermal cascade" effect somehow got "stuck" and was being applied permanently.

I stripped the weapons off my Cutter for a while and, when I put them all back on (a few weeks later) the problem had vanished.

Maybe try swapping the weapons onto a different ship and see if the problem carries over to the other ship, or if it's vanished when you put the weapon back on the FdL?
