FDL PvE Help

Since I have not seen anything recent on the matter with 3.0 around the corner I figure I would ask here. This is my current FDL that is modded for PvP and is going to be altered to do PvE only since CLs and etc kill PvP for me: https://eddp.co/u/KrsiVHGd

Now as you notice I am using PA and MC setup (probably older than old for a loadout) and I have been thinking of doing a couple things. 1) I could swap out the PA and put in a Huge healing beam. 2) I could engineer some Bursts/Pulse/Beam into my Class 2 and use a Huge MC modded with Corrosive ammo (already have that engineered). Or I could just keep what I have until 3.0 hits and do option 1 with rerolls. I have not had much experience with Burst and or Pulse Lasers and I was hoping to have some input on those compared to beams.

As for the shields I was thinking of making a Thermal set for PvE and I have been thinking it might not be that bad of an idea since the recovery rate is horrendous. Still do not know if I want to use a normal shield Generator or a Bi-weave but I am interested in seeing what people have to comment on so far.

Also this will be used in CZs and etc with friends and not Thargoids (at least not for a while).

I always go with Biweave Shields unless it's a cargo hauler build where I'm not going to be doing ongoing combat (e.g. 6As on my Cutter for CGs).

If you fancy Pulse lasers, go with the long range mod as these do not suffer from DPS falloff. That said, in a Furdy I suspect you like to be up close and personal. [big grin]

For CZs and RES farming, I avoid anything that requires ammo so that I can stay for along time. Allefficient lasers does it for me, but it can be a bit boring.

In the huge I put a Multi-cannon and in the rest I have Frag cannons. I run out of ammo like D8veh said. It's not the most devastating loadout but I have yet to find one more fun for my playing style. I love to dash and smack.

I have prismatic's. When I get to 1 ring I Reboot and usually just stay around a ring and a half.

PvE I would suggest going with whatever is the most fun for your style of play.

Bi-weave shields
1 x C4 Efficient plasma accelerator (dispersal field)
4 x C2 Gimballed efficient pulse lasers (no experimentals)

Previous build:
Bi-weave shields
1 x C4 Fixed efficient beam laser (thermal vent)
2 x C2 Gimballed efficient beam lasers (thermal vent)
2 x C2 G1 long range rails guns with 50+% thermal efficiency secondary (one super penetrator, one feedback cascade)

I might switch back to prismatics after hearing about o'moylan's rebooting trick.
