Fear the Walking Dead had it's ups and downs.
I thought it started well, seeing the actual apocalypse was cool. The rest of season 1 and part of 2 I thought it was bad thought, characters made incredibly stupid decisions all the time to create artificial danger situations, in such a blatantly stupid manner that no suspension of disbelief could possibly survive it. But at the end of season 2 and especially during 3 I thought it had come together and became an enjoyable show, even if not great.
Last season (season 3) of FTWD actually had the upper edge over the last few seasons of The Walking Dead, in the sense that at least there was an actually evolving story, and stuff actually happened during the episodes, and the story moved along.
Then came season 4, and it all went down the drain again... Not only there's this completely unnecessary dual timeline that serves no purpose other to make narrative confusing, but it actually lost it's best thing, the "moving along story" and instead inherit the worst parts of the current state of The Walking Dead: the "single character episodes", the "whole episode centered around 2 people doing some trivial thing like scavenging cans of tuna inside a convenience store for an hour", and the worse part the "trying very very hard to give some character a deep meaning" episodes...
It became as excruciantly boring, empty and absent of plot and direction as the last few seasons of The Walking Dead. It's a shame The Walking Dead went down the drain as well, the first seasons were very good, and even though Negan was one of the coolest villains in the history of television, the rest of the show simply could not keep up with him. I mean, seeing a whole episode of some guy stuck in a dark cell eating dog food, for fart's sake... Or a whole episode of "the cop's son is dying"... No negan can save that. It's no surprise that many in the main cast are jumping ship already.
