Feature Request: Cockpit Cabine Light

You know every Car has it and every Plane.

I think such a Cockpit Cabin Light that you can turn on and off would contribute a lot to the Oculus Rift experience and shouldn't be so much to do.

Actually I was just thinking of that the other day. Flying around in my Adder I realised how dark the cockpits actually are. If you ever watch any series like Star Gate, Star Trek ryv, the cockpits in their ships are always well lit.

Remember that you are looking directly out of the canopy at the stars and the world outside. If you had a bright light in the cabin, you wouldn't be able to see a thing - just like looking out of the window of your house at night. If you want a brightly-lit cabin and a viewscreen (Star Trek style), you could take off the DK2 and look at a monitor...

I personally love the look in the DK2 when you rotate the ship and suddenly the entire interior of the cockpit is illuminated by the light of the local star - I just need to stop looking around and admiring it so much that I get distracted and nearly crash into something!

Agreed, it could help with the rift brightness sometimes, since the contrast can be pretty stark. As soon as we are able to float around inside our ships, we will need something like that anyhow.

I wouldnt mind if the cockpit display lit the cockpit up. When theres a ton of red warning lights on, a bit of red glow on the inside of the frames wouldnt go amiss.

To ask for this feature is one of the reasons I joined the forums. Playing at first with all the excitement I didn't notice it, but after some flying while trading I did notice it's really dark most of the time inside the ship because you only get light while near a star or inside a station. I understand bright lights inside would make harder to see outside, obviously it would be a toggle option, you don't really need too much detail outside while working a trade route and you just shut them down when you need to do precision flying. Also it's probable the lack of light isn't that noticeable while in a Sidewinder or an Eagle, but in the Hauler or the Adder that have bigger but more closed up cockpits it is, and I feel I can't really enjoy the detail of them most of the time.
