Right now, Nameplates are near invisible even from short distances.
As with my suggestion of iluminating Decals, especially nameplates would greatly benefit if they could be iluminated (come on, neon lights -- okay, led strips -- should be available in 3303 ...). Maybe as a purchaseable store item.
By this I mean making the nameplate glowing, as done with the excellent illuminated paintjobs, not just casting floodlight on it. It would even negate colour mismatches (like grey nameplate on darker colour).
Then Nameplates could be visible to others even if they are not nose-to-ship with the other one.
Come on people, we need more glow!
