Feature Suggestion: A Simpler "Triggered Ride Audio" Option

Hello,

First of all, I want to say how much I love Planet Coaster. The creative freedom it offers is incredible, and I've spent countless hours building my dream parks. The advanced tools like the Display Sequencer are fantastic for creating detailed experiences.

I'm writing today with a suggestion that I believe would be a huge quality-of-life improvement for many creators, especially those who love building dark rides and themed attractions.

The Idea: A simpler, built-in option for ride music to play only when the vehicle is moving.

When building detailed dark rides, especially with versatile track rides like the "Powered Automated Vehicle", it's often crucial for the music and ambient sounds to stop while the ride vehicle is in the station, and only start when it begins moving along the track. Currently, achieving this requires a relatively complex setup with speakers, multiple track triggers, and the Display Sequencer. While this method is powerful, it can be quite cumbersome for such a common and essential need.

My suggestion is to add a simple option directly in the ride's Audio tab. This could be, for example:

  • A simple checkbox: [ ] Mute audio in station
  • Or a dropdown menu for "Playback Mode" with options like:
    • Continuous Loop (the current default)
    • Play on Departure / Stop on Arrival
This would make creating dynamic and immersive audio experiences much more intuitive and accessible to everyone, not just those who have mastered the full sequencer system. It would be an incredible feature for a potential Planet Coaster 2 as well!

Thank you for considering this feedback and for all your hard work on this wonderful game.

Sincerely,

Not sure whats going on with your game, but my rides all stop the music as soon as they enter the station. Music also only starts when the trains leave the station

You're absolutely right, for many classic roller coasters, the audio system works just as you described. The music often stops in the station and starts on dispatch.

I should have been more specific in my original post. My suggestion was aimed primarily at a different category of rides, specifically the continuous powered track rides like the "Powered Automated Vehicle".

i was just working on my jurassic park jeep tours ride and guess what, i noticed the same bug as you. the audio just keeps playing instead of stopping inside the station...
