I would like to propose that your own fleet carrier should always been shown in the navigation screen (i.e. left side display in the cockpit) even if you have filtered out fleet carriers. During a CG or when a system is very busy for other reasons, there can be 100+ fleet carriers and it takes forever to find the station you are trying to select from the long list of points of interest. Filtering out fleet carriers helps, but then when you return to your own fleet carrier you can't select it because it's filtered out. So you have to toggle the filters back and forth constantly. There is basically no reason to ever filter out your own fleet carrier, so either show it always or have a separate filter for it.
